Broadcom’s purchase of VMware will help the company designing and selling semiconductors into enterprise software.
VMware’s products are used by enterprises to more efficiently run their own servers.
Broadcom is the most acquisitive semiconductor company and hasused mergers to fuel its growth.
It previously purchased CA Technologies for $18.9 billion and Symantec for $10.7 billion.
Broadcom planned to purchase Qualcomm in 2018 for $117B but it was hampered by president Donald Trump.
VMware split from Dell last year in an effort to pay off the debt, Dell acquired the company when it bought EMC in 2016.
